An outcrop showing lensing of sandstone in the Hockingport sandstone of the Dunkard Group along Ohio State Route 124, 1.2 miles south of Hockingport, Athens County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, mudstone, sandstone, limestone and coal lithologies. Bedrock is from the Late Pennsylvanian, Early Permian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Wayne D. Martin in November 1999.
