Description

During the 1800s and 1900s, silver tea strainers marked affluence. After brewing tea in a pot, the tea would be poured into the cups through the strainer. The popularity of tea strainers diminished after the development of tea bags in the early twentieth century. This silver tea strainer features a somewhat ornate handle. It is marked sterling 206.
