Description

Found in the early excavations at Houndee in 1962. A member of the archaeological party, Epitacio Alves Abascal, the Peruvian anthropologist, accomplished flautist, and national marathon Olympic entrant, made a replica of this instrument. However, he found it a formidable task to play even a full scale in harmonic succession. A nasal flute from the Late Archaic period of Llhuros, notoriously difficult to play.
