ZG: 1989, postcard used by Gothic SocietyDescription
For a while this postcard was used in membership communications as opposed to the ones printed by the Gothic Society.
Alison Marchant design based on an original nineteenth century photograph. The central figure is that of a young woman suffering from what was known as "fossy jaw", a disfiguring and often fatal necrosis of the jaw caused by the phosphorus used in match-making. The three young women were members of the Matchmakers Union.
