'The Gothic Society’s magazine, now named “Udolpho”, for its first twelve issues was known as “The Goth”. Volumes 1-6 appeared in “Best of the Goth”, I; selections from the remaining issues under the old title are contained herein. Due to lack of space, many delightful features had to be left out. Perhaps this renders the claim “The Best” a little spurious – but “Amongst the Best of ‘The Goth’” is a title no one human could live with.'
