Description

DIGITAL ITEM ONLY "Nocturne" was an American publication, produced in Chicago, the editors being Michael J Lotus and Vincent L Michael. However, Mark Valentine was the British agent. (Mark Valentine, together with Roger Dobson, was the editor and producer of "AKLO: A Journal of the Fantastic".) Michael J Lotus, in "Thomas Ligotti Online", 25 January 2013: "I published the two issues of Nocturne: Primus and Secundus. It was a labor of love. I was in a sort of morbid frenzy driven by my discovery of Thomas Ligotti and Harry O. Morris. I had very little money at the time and I never came close to breaking even on Nocturne. It was worth it. The second issue does not have a Ligotti story, so it is not so precious now. Nonetheless, it was in many ways a superior production, especially copy-editing, and was very much inspired by Tom. I was corresponding with him at the time and some of the items in it were added at his suggestion. I think I have two copies of each now and I won't be selling them. At some point I gave my box of unsold copies to Marc Michaud from Necronomicon Press with some vague notion that I'd get paid if he sold them. No such luck, but I don't care because I wanted them to get into the hands of people who would appreciate them." Digital image from "Thomas Ligotti Online" pending receipt of physical copy from USA.
