Brass star inlaid on living room floor
Star acquired by Christiana Morgan from Capt. Stewart in Portsmouth, NH prior to 1948 when it is mentioned in Chapter 15 of an untitled manuscript in the Christiana Morgan Papers at Harvard's Countway Library (H MS c70 - Box 3, Folder 6, Chptr 15: Building the Tower, sequence 8). Morgan states: "And the same may be said of the Brass start in the floor. It is not there because it came from the U.S.[S.] Constitution, which it did, but because I wanted a start which would point to the North, and Old Capt. Stewart gave me this one."Collection
