Use
In 1838, Thomas DeBussey and his wife, Sarah Evans DeBussey, mother-in-law, and 3 young children left their home in New Jersey and traveled to Pittsburgh PA. In Pittsburgh they purchased a large raft/flatboat and began their trip down the Ohio River to their new home. Landing near Sherman VA (now WV), they dismantled the raft and used the lumber in the construction of a house and other farm buildings.
