Description

It is large and black and has a round-shaped spout. It has a removable lid with three raised bands around it (counting the outer edge). It is pointed in the center and "8" in engraved in-between the second and first ring. The handle is attached on both sides of the lid. There are hooks on the bottom of the handle. There is a pronounced bend on one side of the handle. The handle has indentions on both sides of the middle portion of the handle. There is a crack on one side of the pot going from the lid to the bottom of the pot. The interior is badly rusted. Found with it was a slip of paper reading: "this cast iron tea kettle of the 1800s variety was used by the Allen J Watkins family of Cabin Fork, WV."
