This plane has 13.A written on the bottom and it is a straight plane that smooths a surface by rubbing the blade along the surface. It has a metal hoop on the front and 13.A written on the bottom. New York Tool Co stamped on front end, Green, red, blue and yellow paint splattered across it. "CE Baker Plane" written on paper taped to inside. Illegible stamp (makers mark) on blade top. Label: This plane made by my grandfather, Elijah Baker in the 1830s. My father D M Baker used it many years as a carpenter. I was using it in 1897. Used it last time in 1972. I smoothed several rough spots during the 75 years." "Son Don Bauer used it as a carpenter tool from 1897 to 1972" whose son? timelines not adding up.
