Description

saddle bags used for rural mail delivery. Howell was Sherman postmaster, working out of his daughter Anna's. Square bags mounted on wide back straps. Handles at tops of bags. Flaps fold down over bags, fastened with 3 buckles/ straps on each. Football and diamond pattern sewn onto bottoms of bags (decorative).
