Page 2 - 100,000 men loaded into steamboats at Parkersburg - by Lois Clack - in 1865 after the civil war. Steamboats filled with General Grants men - they were brought by railroad across the state to Parkersburg and loaded in to nearly 100 steamboats to be taken down river and home.
