Description

SCAN of Jane Safreed, donor's mother, packaging marbles at the Ravenswood Novelty Works. The machine was handmade by her husband. Only known photo of interior of marble plant. The marbles rolled down the two chutes and lined up in neat rows of 15. When the foot pedal was pressed, the lever would lift, 30 marbles would roll into the next chute, and then more marbles would line up. Then the 30 were rolled into the waiting box.
