2023-3rd art car- different entry
Inspired by the mesmerizing organic waves of Chihuly's glass sculptures, we created a scene of warm, friendly schools of fish coming together in the cool, undulating swells of the sea. To support our sea schools, we collected reusable and recyclable materials to transform trash into technicolor treasure.
I have grand memories of the Art Car Parade from growing up in Houston. After moving back to the city in 2018, I jumped on the chance to lead my students in creating an art car. Every year, we brainstorm as a school and vote on our subject matter, materials, and message. I am most excited to see all our hard work come together.
