"Our mixed-media car was inspired by all things art! The car is adorned with art making materials, like crayons and paint brushes, representing creative freedom and exploration of new ideas. This concept was perfect for beginner and advanced 6th-8th grade art students who worked together to create this mobile masterpiece!
The entire car is painted white with bold black outlines, drawing inspiration from a style of comic book illustration. Next, color is crafted with acrylic paint and melted wax dripping down the sides. LED lights surround the car on all sides, which provided an excellent opportunity for the technology students to collaborate as well. Various art supplies adhere all over the outside of the car to help add a 3-dimensional element to the surface. Lastly, the school’s mascot, Cosmo the Cougar, is featured on top of the car, greeting the crowd!"
This is Northland Christian school’s 2nd year participating in the Houston Art Car Parade. We had so much fun last year that we decided to make it a new tradition! Northland Christian student’s were inspired by all things art, drawing, painting, and sculpture! We love the art car parade because it brings our secondary students together in community to share their creative voice through exploration of new ideas. At Northland Christian School, we encourage our students to share their God given talents with the world!
