"I always wanted to paint a van. I don’t know why, because I missed the real hippie generation (born in ‘67 to non-hippie parents). This hippievan is the sixth car that I have painted. It is brightly colored with rainbows, flowers, peace, signs, and a tornado swirl in the back. 8-year-old girls LOVE this van! ""All You Need is Love’ is written on the driver side and the words Freedom, Empowerment, Justice, & Peace & Groovy are on the passenger side.
The inside is painted as well. It started with me not wanting to waste the leftover paint on my brush, so I cleaned it off on the steering wheel. I don’t like waste, so pretty soon I was taking the skins from the top of my previously open paint cans and slapping them on the walls and it grew from there. The inside is my happy place. There is fur on the ceiling and paint and stickers cover the walls.
There is a huge, glittered peace sign on the hood. You can’t miss it. In fact, I truly believe I can never drive an ordinary car again; I would never find it in a parking lot! I don’t even try to remember where I parked anymore. It’s just not necessary and, besides, my brain is already full!"
