Description

"What Tha? Just spreading cheer, that's what! This daily driver coming from Toledo, Ohio is a black 2015 Toyota Corolla that is becoming a yellow ray of sunshine with all the colors of the rainbow. Cari is saving the landfills one lighter at time! A constant work in progress that started with lighters and school bus yellow silicone. The lighters are arranged in rainbow fashion along all four wheel wells and will continue to grow and take over more surface area in time. Flat glass marbles are used as accents along the way. Golden yellow mirrors have started trimming out the car to add that special sparkle. Along the back wheel wells lined up above the lighters are keys, doll arms that Cari likes to say are her jazz hands, and doll legs for the sickline! While some like to hide their glue on their art projects, Cari uses the yellow silicone as part of her design element purposefully pushing it out and slowing turning the car yellow as she adds to the outside surfaces. While Cari is a lover of all colors, especially the bright bold ones, yellow is her absolute favorite and main color choice in the overall design concept, however rainbows have a great representation as well. During festivals when the car is parked, she has an interactive component. She puts out alphabet letter magnets and word magnets on the hood, trunk and available side panels to encourage people of all ages to spell out their names, create sentences or sayings and interact with the car. It always brings smiles to people faces when they realize they can be a part of it and while they read what others have created as well. Another design aspect of the car is that she brought the outside inside! The interior roof/headliner and side panels have been painted a bright blue sky with white puffy clouds and glitter accents. Gemmed out brooches of various winged animals and insects fly throughout the sky. The front and back dashes are both are covered with green grass, trees and mushrooms. Beaded fringe and fairy lights circle the cabin for the added ambiance. It's always a beautiful day when taking a ride in What Tha!"
