A fabulous phoenix that rose from the ashes of Covid, this fiery bird is made from foam, jewels, fabric and a truckload of glitter, and super-powered by hydraulics fed through steel and aluminum tubes. She's the result of the marriage and continuing curiosity of an occasional artist and a mechanical engineer. This is her third time in the parade and she LOVES it!
We have made art cars as a family and a couple since 2018, starting with the massive Hippysaurus. We love the planning, the process, how the creating always results in something surprising and the fun of roping friends in to help. We LOVE Art Car Week! Old friends, new friends, amazing creativity, pure joy. EVERYONE is and can be an artist - enjoy this wonderful parade and maybe you'll be back with your own creation next year!
