Inspired by Japanese monster movies like The Gargantuans, Car-Pet is the latest artcar collab of the Sacaris family. It is the love child of a friendly swamp creature and a 2005 Honda Civic that was spared from the car crusher. Made entirely of donated shag carpet and contact cement.
I'm a second generation Houstonian and have built many artcars over the last 23 years. My day job is designing and building metalwork for homes and buildings. Making artcars is a chance for me to free myself from the constraints of a project with parameters. My favorite thing about the parade is seeing the crowd's response to all of the great cars. It truly is the happiest day of the year in Houston.
