"My entry is comprised of thousands of individually placed bottle caps highlighting the classic lines of a 2002 Volkswagen New Beetle.
Eight tubes of GE Advanced Silicone 2 Window & Door Sealant were used to affix approximately six thousand five hundred bottle caps to the vehicle."
"I saw my first Art Car in Austin, TX in the mid-eighties.
Convinced at the time that it was strictly an underground art form, I was surprised and even delighted to hear of the Orange Show Art Car Parade in early 2022.
I immediately made plans to make the five-hour drive from rural Clay County, TX to Houston in order to attend.
During the parade, I was inspired to create my own Art Car.
Besides the parade itself, I am most excited to meet fellow Art Car artists, to learn of their inspiration, trials and tribulations in creating their entry!
After participating in the 2023 parade, I have endeavored to affix even more bottle caps, nearing the eventual goal of covering the exterior completely!"
