---- "In the Styx" is based off the Greek Myth of the River Styx. On the car, you will find a river scene of the dead reaching from the bottom of the car (or river) up to Charon's ferry, trying to board to get to the afterlife. The car is shades of blue representing the water. You will find 3D trees built on the sides that will cover some of the car to invite the viewers in. On the roof, you will see Charon in his ferry holding a chain that is connected to a large skeleton on the hood of the car, pulling his ferry across. There are also multiple skeletons climbing up the car to get to the ferry. We hope to also have the rims painted like gold Obol's that will give safe passage to the after life.---- Spring Branch ISD teachers LOVE art cars! I have been inspired by artists Becky Mustachio and Stephanie Walton for my 9 years in the district. I have attempted an art car in the past, but it didn't work out. An opportunity arose for Northbrook High School to receive a donated car and we jumped at the opportunity. This will be the first time NHS has created a car! We are very excited. This year's entry was inspired by skulls. I knew I wanted to do something with skulls and inspiration hit, the river of the dead. I am most excited to show off the car that my students worked so hard on and see them participate in the parade.
