---- Underwater/marine coral reef- car will be painted to resemble the look of the ocean under the waves with a short gradient from light to dark blue. Students will make various coral structures and kelp as well as animals of their choice (foil, paper mâché, pool noodles, foam, Styrofoam, rattan caning, plastic, plastic sheeting, cloth, tissue paper) to be placed around the car. The plan is to give creatures and the structures built the ability to be modular- able to be placed in different areas as students see fit. Glass cabochons of various blue hues are also going to be mosaiced around the hood and side of the car. Interior of car will be either a continuation of the coral reef or a deep sea zone. LED lights can be added to structures to illuminate areas. The bed of the truck will hold a school of fish.---- This is our first time participating in the Art Car Parade! Our design was spearheaded by our Aldine HS NAHS member, Ethan Kesinger, as an underwater theme. It will have coral, marine animals and parts that can be moved/placed in various places on the car, as well as many, many shiny marbles. This was a team effort between the CTE and Visual Arts departments to bring this project to fruition and an absolute joy to be a part of.
