---- We were looking to capture the identity of Eastwood Academy High School. We are a STEM school from the East Side of Houston. We believe that the space cowboy combination captures our urban roots while also acknowledging that boots and jeans are the dress-up combo of choice for many of our students.
To bring our space cowboy theme to life, we carved a massive cowboy hat out of Styrofoam as the centerpiece. We decorated the car with spray paint, rope, and fringe. We attached foam planets with wire. We added details with paint pens.---- Eastwood Art Club meets weekly after school. Some kids hang out and draw. Some kids hang out and do homework. A few students design and paint murals on the walls of our school. Still others slowly but surely design and create the art car. We embrace a no stress environment.
