Description

---- Our entry is a vibrant, circus-themed art bike designed to bring the magic and wonder of the big top experience to Houston. Our goal is to create a moving artwork that embodies the joy and excitement of a traditional circus, inviting onlookers to step into a world of wonder and imagination. Inspired by the energy, color, and spectacle of a traditional circus, The Big Top captures the essence of clowns, ringmasters and magicians in a whimsical design. The bike will be transformed into a miniature circus tent, featuring a bold red, yellow, and blue striped canopy reminiscent of a classic big top. We will construct our entry using repurposed materials such as hula hoops, PVC piping, fabric, and wire. Handmade sculptural elements crafted from paper mache, cardboard and paint will bring our circus theme to life. Additionally, Art Club students accompanying the bike will be dressed as classic circus characters.---- The Heights High School Art Club provides a space for students to explore different artistic mediums, express themselves, and bring their ideas to life through hands-on projects. Our inspiration for creating an art bike stems from our shared excitement for transforming everyday objects into art. We wanted to create something that would not only showcase our artistic talents but also bring joy and wonder to the crowd. For many of us, this is our first time participating in Art Car and we are most excited to see our creation come to life alongside so many other artists from Houston. Most of all, we look forward to seeing the reactions from the audience as The Big Top rolls through the parade!
