Description

---- Created in conjunction with the upcoming Untitled Art Houston fair in September 2025, Sky High H.I.W.I. was created to remind Houstonians that regardless of its imperfections, the city is not only worth it, but as evidenced today, is one of the country’s most exciting and diverse cultural destinations, where art in all forms thrives. A special thank you to the children of Sky High for Kids for bringing this car to life with water color wonders that reimagine the Houston It’s Worth It campaign for a new generation. Sky High for Kids, the local nonprofit working to provide comfort, fund research and save lives of those fighting pediatric cancer and other life-threatening conditions, is partnering with Untitled Art Fair, the annual contemporary Miami art fair which is now expanding to Houston, to create an art car that will then be exhibited at the Untitled Art Fair in Houston in September. While the design for the art car has not been finalized, the artist will work on parts of the car alone and also in tandem with some of the children who are supported through Sky High for Kids. An Art Bike element is also being considered.---- Untitled Art, which originated in Miami in 2012 and is hosting their inaugural fair in Houston in September, is guided by a mission to support the wider art ecosystem and offer a platform for discovering contemporary art. The Orange Show’s Art Car Parade, which allows Houstonians an opportunity to see wildly creative submissions from artists both locally and around the country, feels like a kindred extension of that mission. In addition to funding research and life-saving treatments for those fighting pediatric cancer, Sky High for Kids also provides sick children with an opportunity to take part in enriching experiences they might not have otherwise had access to. By partnering with Untitled Art, Sky High for Kids beneficiaries will be able to work with a respected artist and play an active role in the Art Car Parade. Both organizations are excited to see the artist’s monumental artwork come to life and take part in such a legendary event that’s beloved by Houston’s community.
