---- This Cosmic Cabrio is my celestial chariot. It takes me on everyday drives around Houston and beyond. This design is inspired by the artist Barbara Takenaga and her many abstract paintings involving celestial bodies and exploding stars. The standard VW emerald green paint was hand painted with One Shot sign paint in swirling patterns using sponges of all sizes. I hope this hand painted car will give you a break from the everyday and inspire you to reach for the stars.---- I am an architect and affordable housing advocate by day and art cars are a hobby that I started as soon as I could afford to paint my soccer mom Dodge caravan. My first parade vehicle was created with my best friend and our 4 kids. The problem solving and creative journey are hard to describe but once you start, its hard to stop creating art cars. Every year after, we have enjoyed the parade with family and friends, driving anything from go carts to minivans. My favorite event is Main street drag and sharing the excitement directly with schoolchildren.
