---- The 1959 Cadillac used in the 1984 movie Ghostbusters movie is the inspiration of my vehicle, I replicated it as close as I could but with a modern twist using a sleek 2023 black Ford Explorer. I have magnets on the SUV that replicate the badges used on the movie Ectomobile. I also mounted a roof rack that houses all the gadgets: light bars, beacons, strobe lights, rack features two A-6 oxygen tanks similar to those used by World War II-era fighter planes and bombers. The colors of the tanks are yellow. The rack also features a "SNIFFER" which is made up of a PVC pipe that is 53" long and has a 6" inner diameter. There is a 6"x9" radome and a 18" diameter quarter hemisphere radar dish mounted at the rear.---- I never thought I would be a father, when my son was born, he was a true miracle baby, and I introduced him to my childhood favorite movie, The Ghostbusters. When he was 6 he asked for his 7th birthday to be Ghostbusters theme after watching Frozen Empire, and asked if we could buy a 1959 Cadillac. Since spending $200k on a classic car wasn't in the budget, I did the next best thing, and started converting our family SUV into a modern day Ectomobile. I call it the ECTO713. My son has loved every part of becoming a Ghostbuster and making our ECTO713 part of his core memories. We have incorporated the use of the Ghostbusters and the Ectomobile to teach him the importance of giving back to the community and it has been an excellent tool in his development. What I most look forward to for Art Car Week is seeing how the community comes together to celebrate such fun and creative forms of expression with their vehicles.
