---- Sheila is a mural box truck that reflects my love of freedom, whimsy, and love. As my daily vehicle, mobile workshop and artist den, she is a part of me and I am a part of her. She is painted all over with 2 large mural walls on each side, as well as her back. The back door is a giant anatomical heart atom that represents the love and energy that connects and creates all things. The is what the Flamgu means. One side is a parrot opening its wing with a girl looking out into the beautiful landscapes of America that we cruise. The other side is the nighttime dream portal with a friendly looking cat dragon observing a yin yang symbol in an energetic dream landscape. She was painted using rollers, mops, latex paint, as well as paint brushes, spray paint and stencils. While staying with my artist friend in Joshua Tree, she transformed from a sketchy looking white box truck into a flamboyant sunset guuurl. He said the art would protect me and it has totally transformed my life! We meet so many people with her paint job. She is my biggest blessing. I hope we inspire others to follow their dreams, take flight, and love life.---- Claire and Kyle Johnson first brought Art Car Week to my attention. They were the first people I met who made art cars and theyve become one of my absolute favorite things in life. All the people I meet who make these are just the coolest, most inspiring people.. and we are all different!
My car, Sheila, and I found each other. I needed her to be able to be an artist and move my paintings around, to travel and to have the life I always dreamed of. She's a piece of art on the inside and the outside and we evolve together. I hope to write a novel about our journey together,.
I'm an artist because its my calling. I've mostly been a painter but am excited to venture out into more mediums and collaborating with different kinds of artists all over the country. I'm currently on my 4th rendition of total nomad with Sheila and would like to paint a mural in every state. As an artist, I'm inspired by nature, the dual nature of reality and flow. The journey of living is just as much art as anything else. Hope that I can meet all of the wonderful people this event brings out and share my love of life.
