Description

do not judge- do not give award. Bryan would be dissapointed---- The Santa Car MarkIV is a 92 Nissan Santa. The Big Guy drives it whenever he is in town and lets the driver use it the rest of the time as long it is maintained. The original owner/creator Bryan Taylor was a part of the parade since its very beginning as an employee of the Orange Show and a member of Steering Committee for the first half dozen years. He died in July, 2024 leaving a Santa-sized gap in the Art Car community. The hat was created by his ex-wife, Charlotte Taylor, in 1999 and has been on 4 cars with the MkIV being the final one. Although we lost Charlotte a few years back, her giant Santa Hat makes it really easy to locate the car in crowded parking areas.---- The original owner/creator Bryan Taylor was a part of the Parade since its very beginning as an employee of the Orange Show and a member of Steering Committee for first half dozen years. Even after he discovered how much more fun it is to be IN the Parade, he continued to volunteer in some capacity ever since. This event inspired him. To have seen where it came from and where it is now is truly remarkable. Houston Independent School District has its very own Artcar Program and just knowing that made him very happy indeed. The One True Santa Claus was his inspiration for the car and to use it to rekindle belief in Santa in those that stopped believing for whatever reason. Vivat Claus!!
