Description

Youth - 3rd - AIMS owl - 2016---- This car is about to become my daily driver!! She's an Emiliania huxleyi, which is a single celled marine algae, and she reproduces asexually....so I have the car and trailer, and they're literally splitting apart as we drive down the parade route. She's a sanded Mitsubishi, repainted in gold (she's a golden brown algae) and then painstakingly painted coccolith by coccolith in black paint. The trailer is a collage of E hux coccoliths glued onto the trailer. There are coccospheres attached to the car and trailer, and on the roof of the car (a huge one! repurporsed from Bouma the Owl's head). I will also have blue flags that will simulate the ocean in which E hux lives.---- duuuuuudeeeeee.....everything about art car inspires me! And i'm a nannopaleontologist so this combines my art and my science!!! SUCH FUN!
