Performance-3rd, 2013,2014, 2019/ 2nd- 2016/2017 for Luchamobile/ Painted- 2nd - Salish XB-2017---- While visiting Xochimilco in Mexico City, I was enchanted by the vibrant flat-bottom canal boats (trajineras) and the beautiful flowers grown there. During my visit, I thought about my grandmother, Consuelo (Connie), who adored fishing and gardening. She was a flower judge for many years and never stopped tending to her garden. If she were still alive today, I would love to take her on a boat tour of Xochimilco to see the gardens---- I've been using her Plymouth minivan as an art car for many years, and now it's time to celebrate its 15th year in the parade with a spectacular Quinceañera! This milestone is not just a tribute to the vehicle's journey, but also a joyous and colorful celebration of my grandmother, honoring her legacy and the beautiful memories we've created together.
