1840/Hughes: Family bible, p.1, Seneca and MaryDescription
On the first page of the family bible can be found the biographical details of Seneca Hughes and Mary Elizabeth Gill, and the details of their marriage. The bottom corner of this page has been lost.
Seneca died in 1893 and Mary in 1896, and both were buried at West Norwood Cemetery, Lambeth, one of the seven magnificent Victorian London necropolises. Various other members of the family would also be buried there, including, in 1906, Rose Edith (nee Vaughan), their daughter-in-law and the mother of Kathleen Mack.
