Name/Title
1895/Jensen: CharlotteDescription
Charlotte Jensen was the grandmother of Marion Mack.
Circa 1895. The exact date is unknown but the photograph appears to have been taken before Charlotte's marriage to Carl Jensen. Her maiden name is currently unknown.
This huge and strikingly beautiful photograph was in the lumber room at North Heale, the Devonshire farm of Bill and Vinnie Clarke, Vinnie being Charlotte's youngest daughter.
This is a photograph of the photograph, most fortuitously taken by Kristine Johnston, as the original vanished at some point. Vinnie had an obsession with keeping family matters private and may well have destroyed it. All other pictures of the Jensen family have been lost, thus this is the only known picture of a member of the Jensen family except for the much later photos of Vinnie and Charlotte from 1948 onwards.
