This small unidentified photo was in the album of Teddy, Dorothy's son, but is definitely of his father, the Reverend Horatio Edmund Valentine Day. It is the only photo of its type in the album compiled by Teddy, and appears on a page where there are photos from 1922 and 1927. Horatio died in December 1927.
Born in 1871, Horatio was ten years older than Dorothy, whom he married in 1908 when she was 27. Teddy (Edward Francis Day) was their only child.
Horatio died at the early age of 56. Teddy, who never married, would also die early, aged 69. Dorothy lived into her 90s.
