Margery Angela at the Community of St Michael and All Angels (CSM&AA). It is possible that this photograph was taken by Kathleen. The date 1956 on the back of the photograph is in her handwriting. The leafless state of the vines on the pergola suggest that the photograph was taken during the South Africa winter, maybe around August 1956.

'Although I have not yet discovered any other documentation for Kathleen making a trip to Bloemfontein, in Michael Sparrow's book "Nuns Across the Orange" Kathleen is mentioned as addressing a public meeting of the English Committee of Help for CSM&AA on Michaelmas 1957 (Michaelmas being 29 September). The annual Michaelmas Festival Mass for CMS&AA was followed by the public meeting where: "a talk would be given either by a visiting Sister or by one of the English friends who had been to South Africa recently". The book notes that Kathleen and Margery's brother Humphrey, Dom Anselm, was present at the meeting. (p.??)**.'
