Name/Title
1973/Hughes: Humphrey to Jennie Mack, letter 1Scope and Content
A letter from Humphrey (Dom Anselm) to his great-niece Jennie Mack.
JMG notes (November, 2025):
'The date on this letter is wrong (I would only have been eleven years old in 1963). Perhaps Humphrey made a mistake because he had been very ill. The likeliest date seems to be 23 May 1973, as a letter in July follow naturally after this one, although it is a surprise to me that I visited in that year, I would have thought that it was earlier.
I must have visited Nashdom three times, the first time with my father, Peter, probably when he was still living at Longridge after Marion’s departure (Longridge was sold in 1973). The following two times I went on my own and it was on the second visit that I stayed one night at The Cenacle.'
