11,510 - EXTRA LARGE FLOOR RECEPTACLE. Acorn Offering giving box. Note the acorn on top of box lid. Parishioners would locate large acorns and cut them open to insert a dime or two. At prescribed times parishioners would bring their "acorns of coins" to deposit inside the box. A common theme of the time was "Acorns to large oaks grow." A little from many is much in stewardship practice.
