1813 – A PEW TAX ISSUED BY THE “NEW” OLD SOUTH MEETING HOUSE This is one of only a handful of original pew rent receipts known to exist. Known now as the historic location of the start of the Boston Tea Party, and now known as the Old South Meeting House, this building started out in early years known as the New South Meeting House. It was in this building that Revolutionary rebels planned and departed dressed as native Indians, to throw British boxes of tea into the Philadelphia harbor. The image size is 3 inches by 6 inches.
