1610 – C PARABLE OF THE UNJUST STEWARD This is an original antique leaf engraving on hand-made paper. This small engraving was taken from an Italian counter – Reformation book by the Jesuit Priest Bartolomeo Ricci. The format using letters to illustrate the stories in the picture were introduced in a book published 17 years earlier in 1593 in which biblical stories were illustrated and labeled with letters. The explanations of the letters appeared in the text as was suggested originally by Loyola before he died. The image size is 4 inches by 6 ¼ inches. Manifest Record: 180070121318Collection
