1945 – A TITHING GIFT CARD OF MRS. JANET GROFT KRINER
The forward dedication in the April 8, 1945 sermon book, “Blessings in Blunders”, a sermon preached by Reverend J.B. Baker, D.D. in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, York, Pennsylvania. This message was also broadcast over York Broadcast Station, W-O-R-K.
“The printing of this service-booklet is paid for by money from Mrs. Janet Groft Kriner, member of the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve, from 1943 to 1945, the wife of Ray Kriner, instructor in the Army Air Corps Celestial Navigation. Being a tither, she left the money in the parsonage with the remark that this money didn’t belong to her anymore. The smile reflects the joy that comes when we do it God’s way.” The image is 4 ½ inches by 9 inches.
