This is an original hand-written appeal for church funds from the mid-19th century. In excellent condition for ephemera documents of its time and era. This is a double letter.
One is from a man named Mead, asking for a donation of $50 to help support reverend Joshua Lane. Second page of the letter is from S. Cowles addressed to Brother Murray. Sylvester Cowles gave the dedication speech at the new Presbyterian Church in 1835; Joshua Lane served there as pastor from 1847 – 1849.
