1705 – A THE MIRACLE OF THE LOAVES G. Freeman, artist P. Bouche, engraver This is an original engraving from a 1705 English Bible history. The paper is heavy and handmade. The cartouche on Plate 29 depicts the miracle of the loaves in Matthew 14, reads “The honorable Sir Henry Goodrick of Ribston Parke in Yorkshire, knight and Baronette and Envoy Extraordinary for his Majesty King Charles the 2nd to the King of Spain. Anno Domini 1682. For the advancement of the worke, contributed this plate to whose parsonage it is humbly dedicated by Richard Blome.” Richard Blome was the cosmographer to her late Majesty Queen Anne. The plate used for this print was made in 1680. This print originally was portrayed in the book: “The History of the Old and New Testament, extracted from the Sacred Scriptures . . . London: Printed for Jeremiah Bright; Friday Street in St. Paul’s church Yard, 1712”. The image size is 8 ½ inches by 13 ½ inches. Manifest Record: 180269053029
