Patchwork quilt, star design on white background. double red striped border. made in 1870, hand patched and quilted. attached note and description. Made by widow of one of the first settlers of Fairfax Co., Va. The flowered calico used came from England. Each square sewer together by hand, and the grape and rose design was quilted by hand on quilting frames made in 1850. Used by 3 generations.
