Cream colored linen shirtwaist with peplum. Highly starched. The shirt has a high standing collar of about 1". Front of shirt has vertical tucks from shoulder to the bottom of the peplum. Central panel is embroidered with satin stitch with a grapevine motif. A placket hides the button closures of 4 buttons in addition to one at the collar and one at waist that are both visible. There are also studs on collar front and back for a detachable collar that could be easily removed and cleaned.
There is a band at the waist with a tie string attached in the back that ties in front above the peplum. The back has the same 4 tucks as the front of the blouse. The back of the peplum is slightly cut out on either side. Sleeves are slightly puffed with tight gathers at the shoulders and then narrow to the wrist. A 2 1/2" band of grapevine embroidery encircles the cuff and 1 1/2" from the edge of the cuff. There are no buttons or other type of closure.Exhibition
