Description

A letter written by a Mr. Enos E. Johnson in New York City to Phillip Richard Fendall, Jr. in Washington, D.C. The letter was handwritten in pen and ink on a single pieces of paper which was folded in half to create the envelope. It appears that the envelope was sealed with a wax stamp, which has been removed at some point. Although there is no postage stamp on the envelope, there is an ink stamp that reads "New York. July 19." There is also a red ink scrawl in the upper right front corner. Mr. Johnson requests help in finding employment in DC. Mr. Fendall has added a notation on the outside of the envelope indicating that he was unable to help Mr. Johnson.
