Framed photograph of John L. Lewis. Typewritten letter on back, possibly an account by John L. Lewis of the time he was in Wilkes-Barre?
Letter writes: "In 1922, after a six-month's strike, there was a convention of the United Mine Workers of America at Wilkes-Barre to ratify the Anthracite settlement. All the radicals were fighting it. I made a speech with all my heart in it. There was a cameraman with a tripod outside. It was a hot day and I was dripping wet. When I came out of the hall I just turned around my head and said, 'Take it quickly!' There is the picture."Dimensions
