Description

Red abstract floral printed skirt with accordion pleats. The miniskirt is constructed of a sheer fabric with a red knit underskirt. White knit fitted tunic Stonewashed denim jacket has princess seams, a shoulder yoke, convertible collar, pockets and waistband, and brass button. Technology continued to influence fashion, especially the speed at which communication of styles was happening and the growing online retail market. At the beginning of the 2000’s fast fashion (cheap, disposable fashion) prevailed; however, as the period progressed the idea of sustainable fashion began to emerge. Fashion changed from prominent styles to individuals having a personal style with clothing as the components to create that style. The silhouettes combined looks from multiple previous decades at the same time. Styles included pencil skirts, cardigan sweaters, sheath dresses, short skirts, slim pants, pant suits, layered tops and jackets, body conscious looks, laser cutout, athleisure Donated by Taylor Bates. Taylor is a 2018 graduate of Louisiana Tech earning a BS degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Studies. She currently works in the industry at The Collective in Ruston.
