Black Silk Crepe with front buttons and a cream lace collar.
After World War I, the social climate changed. As the social roles of women changed, there were visible changes in dress to more mannish looks. The ideal figure in the 1920’s deemphasized the bosom making it appear flat and also created an appearance of narrow hips. Straight dresses without an indentation at the waistline were fashionable silhouettes to portray the ideal figure.
Donated by John I. Feazel. Mr. Feazel earned a bachelors of science degree in Animal Husbandry from Louisiana Tech University in 1955. The dress belonged to his aunt, Bertha Feazel Hammons. When
