Description

The deep vessel features a rounded base, tall walls that curl at the top to form the rim, and a pair of riveted handles on the sides. The vessel has formed attractive patina and exhibits thick layers of soot on the exterior from heavy use.

Context

A sizable basin formed from hammered copper sheets that was used at frontier campsites for cooking large meals and washing clothes, though thankfully not simultaneously.
