Description

Photograph of a Curtiss Canuck C446, belonging to the 85th Training Squadron (Canadian), Barron Field, Texas, that has crashed through the roof of the screened porch of one of the barrack blocks and the salvage process has started.

Context

Barron Field, also known as Taliaferro No. 3, was a World War I pilot-training field a half mile west of Everman in southeastern Tarrant County. Construction began in September 1917. The field was closed about 1921 and reverted to farm land. It was used to train Canadian pilots.
